Hyaluronic acid is a sugar that is found naturally in our skin that holds water and help to keep our skin hydrated and plump. Just like collagen and elastin, the amount of naturally occurring HA in our bodies decreases as we age, so restoring it makes sense. Because of its ability to draw and hold water not only does it restore volume loss and provide support and structure but also keeps your skin more hydrated. At BY SARAH we consider ourselves artists in natural facial aesthetics and the type of treatment chosen for use will depend on many different factors, such as the area to be treated, age of client, skin type and quality, look/result desired. As we age, we are continuously losing volume from our face, approximately 1% of facial volume every year and around 40mls by the time we reach the age of 40. We lose fat from the fat pads under the skin, our ligaments get lax, and we resorb bone from our skull which changes its shape. The good news is that non-surgical Medical Aesthetic treatments can replenish some of this loss and dramatically rejuvenate a face.
